The Edufem Project is an initiative designed to support marginalized young women in continuing their higher education after completing the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). In many remote areas of Nepal, young women often discontinue their studies after SEE due to financial constraints, the lack of nearby higher education institutions, and prevailing social norms that discourage investment in girls’ education. Recognizing these barriers, the Edufem Project aims to bridge this gap by providing comprehensive support to help young women pursue their academic and career aspirations. Implemented in partnership with be artsy, the project covers essential costs including college enrollment fees, tuition, textbooks, stationery, food, accommodation, and other related expenses. By addressing both economic and logistical challenges, the Edufem Project empowers young women to continue their education in safe and supportive environments, enabling them to break cycles of marginalization and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
